Everyday Casual Boots

Some people have been asking me for boot advice for the fall, and if you aren't into the harness boot I posted a few days ago (understandable, hardware is not for everyone!) Frye has another boot that I love, I have it in a cognac color and love them for everyday casual wear -




I will post more formal boots another time, this one is in the spirit of the weekend.

A great (cheap) summer outfit

A cut tank top can be hard to find, I just don't like the idea of spending too much on my tank tops and other summer tees. They just don't last long enough to justify it.

So I was pretty excited when I saw this one from Vera Wang's inexpensive line for Kohls-

I love the pleating detail around the collar on this top, I think it adds something different to a basic tank.

Holy crap, I just found these Frye Harness boots in PLUM - I LOVE them, I think you will too!

Gorgeous Leather Jackets

I have been looking at leather jackets lately, I think this fall I will finally take the plunge! There are so many gorgeous options out there, no need to stick with standard black (although I love those too...) like this light, buttery leather with a fantastic collar -

Black Shoes You Can Stand In (work, travel, conference shoes)

I have a client who is a professor, she stands in front of a classroom for a while, and needs to look professional. Her basic black shoes left something to be desired so I'm on a quest to find replacements for her that are comfortable, timeless and affordable. I did find a few that fit the very demanding bill -


This pair of Ecco's look like a classic black pump, with a low heel and a nice pointy toe - I like this alot!

These with an ankle strap are really sharp, with a pointy toe and a slightly higher heel (and that ankle strap gives more stability)-

They also come in several widths, great for anyone who has a wider foot. I like the black kidskin, but the pearl leather is also a really nice, unexpected color. Love it.

I am in love with this skirt, it's Forever 21, and $15.80. That is crazy, and yes it's a total rip-off of a BCBG skirt, which is probably itself a rip-off of some haute brand, and yet still at less than $16 I'm not sure I care so much.

Dreamy Summer Whites

I saw a photo of Eva Mendes strolling through an Italian town wearing the perfect white summer dress, of course that one is Dolce and Gabbana which is out of most of our price ranges, but I found this on Yoox and thought I'd build my own dreamy summer outfit.

Plus they look way more comfortable than a super sky high version, cute and comfortable = the holy grail of shoes!

I also like this one for it's intersting shape and the sharp contrast between the straw and the dark edges, it's a very eye-catching, lady-like bag -

Perfect Vacation/Summer Dress on Sale

I have posted this Ella Moss dress before -





But now it's down to $73. I can't believe how cheap this is. If you have a beach vacation left this summer this is the perfect dress for you, throw it on over a swimsuit to have lunch, or wear pretty sandals and wear it out for dinner. Plus, it will just roll up into your bag and will never wrinkle. Does it get better than that? not sure.

I am always looking for cute jackets, it's really hard to find good ones, but I was scoping out the Armani Exchange site and found a few of them!

A Little Edge

I bought these Paige jeans last week from Overstock -




They are a lovely light blue which doesn't come through very well in the photo. The style is really low waisted, even I was a little surprised, but I do like them. Another thing that surprised me was that when I try them on, I feel like they need a little rock n' roll, they suggest it(the rock n' roll thing) but need something kind of 'rough' to look right. So, I was thinking all these shoes with studs would be perfect but there are some issues to think about. First, I am not going to wear one those shoe bootie thingies with stiletto heels. Second, the legs of the jeans are quite fitted, so if I go with a pointy shoe or a flat sandal I look like I have clown feet (what can I say, I have long feet for my size) and then I found these -

I have to say, I think they are perfect. The have a wedge heel instead of a stiletto, have a rounded toe, and look at all that black leather and studs! I love them.
