Fun Rain and Snow Boots, for you and the kids
Last week the rains came. It was earlier than usual, so many of us were caught totally unprepared. whoops. In case you and your kids need a few ideas, a few of my faves -
How cute is that toddler option? This one is also really adorable -
Or maybe you have more of a little fashionista at home? Then this may be just right -
I have both warm boots, and wellies, and I use them both a lot. My warm boots are La Canadienne, they are great in rain and snow, they really keep me warm and the leather is really nice. This is one of their many styles -
It's a great riding boot style.
I love these brightly colored Cole Haan waterproof boots -
Both colors are so cute! They also have it in black.

Cool Flat Boot
I am so into these boots from Belle by Sigerson Morrison -
They have the biker vibe that is so hot right now, without actually being biker. The zipper is the only hardware, and it's a really nice touch. They look more refined and have a narrower shaft, but there should still be plenty of room for tucking your jeans into if you want. They also come in this lovely light brown color, it's really beautiful.

Boots for Wide Calves (and Ankle Boots)
I did a first post on boots last week, I wanted to supplement it with boots specifically for women with wider calves. There is a lot that goes into finding the right boot, the height has to be right, as does the circumference. A few of the boots I posted for shorter calves would also work, but if a lot of regular boots are too snug for you these are great options:
This is a cute flat boot option -

This high heeled Delman boot is a classic style that would look absolutely amazing worn with jeans or your more formal professional clothes -

It comes in the gorgeous honey brown pictured above, as well as classic black.
This Delman boot has a lower heel, and a slightly narrower shaft (half an inch smaller in circumference) -

they would also look great both with casual and professional clothes.
Ankle boots are also a great trend if you really feel your calves are too wide for boots, they give you the same look as tall boots, or an even better one actually when wearing pants. I am not sold on the peep-toe bootie trend that has taken over, it only makes sense in the parts of the country where winter doesn't look much different than summer. If someone would like to make a case for them though, by all means, please send me an email.
I really like this Botkier pair (on sale!) that comes in this great black as well as grey -

A Te Casan version -

Boots for Short Calves
This is actually a problem I have - I am short and most boots are just too high for my legs. It took me a long time, and trying on many pairs to realize that was the problem. So...I look for boots with a shorter shaft. Here are a few good options -
This first pair is an inexpensive Nine West boot with a fun detail along the leg. These would be great with a lot of different outfits -

This studded, shorter Frye boot comes in this great brown and black, it's pricy but I think its worth it for a boot you will wear for years. It can be worn with jeans or skirts for casual wear, but also once the studs and the top are covered with pants, you can wear them for business casual as well. They will look great with a wide- leg trouser.

These dark red patent Marc by Marc Jacobs boots are a gorgeous unexpected color, and a great price. These could be worn a million ways, I would probably mainly wear them with skinny jeans tucked in, but bootcut jeans can be worn outside, and trousers also for work would look gorgeous with this color. Basically what I'm saying is - buy them and wear them all the time! Don't be scared of the dark patent red, you can wear it as a neutral.

Women's Boots for Fall Part 1... the basics
It may still be Summer, but it's not a bad idea to start thinking about fall and fall means boots. Everyone has different needs for boots, I will start with this post on some I see as basics, check back for more later!
As you may have figured out, I am really into Frye boots, I like these - they have the hardware but look more delicate than the campus or harness boot -

I like these basic flat boots, they are a good go-to boot and reasonably priced -

These are La Canadienne, they make really great warm and waterproof boots that are also cute, it's like the holy grail of winter boots!

These are a good start, something to consider when ordering boots is the length of your leg. I'm short, so a lot of boots don't look right because the shaft is too high. More to come...

Boot sale at Endless
Boot sale on Endless now, check these Camper beauties out for everyday wear -

they come in black also, I think they are great basic everyday boots, and a great deal at 20% off.
And then there are these with heels -

Very nice boots...
And these are adorable, and less expensive -

I love the buckle at the top. I know many women are afraid to wear hardware at the part of the boot for fear of adding bulk, but I just don't see this as something that really adds bulk. It's subtle, and can still be worn under pants too.
