Cute Maternity Work Clothes for Fall

A friend who is now in her second trimester is starting to need maternity pants, but the stores she has gone to don't carry petite lengths of pants. Some of you may be able to relate to the fact that by the time she would actually take pants to the tailor and get them back, she may have already outgrown them! so...I told her I find some cute petite maternity pants for her online.

I love these black cords, and with a 29 inch inseam they fit the bill -

They have a cute flare at the bottom, and since they are meant to be shorter, the knee break is in the right place, key for a petite woman.

Dressing for work can be particularly difficult while pregnant, and these pants are perfect for the office -

They also have a 30 inch inseam which works for a petite woman. I love the crease down the center of the leg.

They are both perfect for fall/winter, and are between $68-$78, not bad for a nice pair of pants.

If you live in the Bay Area (or another equally casual and warm area) these bermudas would be a great option as well -

Skirts are also great to have, and it's a good idea to have one or two of them to mix things up...particularly while it's still warm! A-Line versions are universally flattering -

or a more office approriate version -

A pencil skirt is always a good thing to have for the office -

Designer Maternity Jeans on Sale!

Poking around Overstock looking for other things I was shocked when I saw Paige and Citizens maternity denim. The Paige style is the Benedict Canyon -

Paige Premium Denim Maternity 'Benedict Canyon' Jeans

It does look a little funny on the non-pregnant mannequin, oh well.

And the Citizens version -

Citizens of Humanity Women's 'Elle' Maternity Jeans

ALso modeled on a non-pregnant mannequin, oh well. They are both great styles, and the Paige version is a particularly good deal at $66!

While I'm blogging about maternity pants, I saw on Overstock they also have this belly band which is supposed to be good for early in the pregnancy when your clothes are no longer fitting...

The Belly Button Maternity Band

I think it works for some people at the point when your clothes are a little small, but your belly isnt quite ready for maternity clothes...

Cute Nursing Tops

A friend asked for a little help finding cute nursing tops, and I am of course happy to oblige. There are the tops made for nursing, which are probably best when you are just starting and learning to juggle the baby, pulling up your shirt, and still trying to maintain any kind of privacy in public (I hear the last one matters less either the longer you nurse or the more kids you've got...of course here in the Bay Area it's also pretty standard to see women nursing in public) Of course there is no reason to only wear special nursing tops the entire time you plan to nurse.

To start I looked at designated nursing tops, I really like this style -

It's cute, and actually really inexpensive ($20) The part above the empire waist is layered and the layers pull up to allow easy access...

This basic tank is great as an underlayer, worn under a cardigan it could be a good tank to make nursing a little easier -

It comes in black, nude and white, and is only $20 also.

I like this basic tank a little more, it doesn't look as much like underwear and can be worn outside -

This Yummie Tummy version, if you can afford it, is amazing. The middle panel smoothes the tummy, and the straps have clips to make nursing easy -

If you go with these basic tanks, you can wear cute layers over them, wrap tops, cardigans, a flowy tee shirt.

I love this C+C cardigan from Overstock -

C&C California Women's 'Agnes' Cotton Cardigan

With a cute necklace and bright flats you will look fantastic and it will be easy to nurse.

The Non-Maternity Maternity Dress

Huh? You might be asking with a subject like that, I'm talking about regular clothes that work well as maternity clothes, which means you could even wear it once the bun is out of the oven.

These long Ella Moss dresses which are on sale would make great summer dresses both for those of us who aren't pregnant and those of you who are, when Angelina Jolie was pregnant with her twins she was often photographed in regular long dresses that worked really well. Here are a couple options -

Ella Moss Tahiti Flower Long Dress in Harbor

and

Ella Moss Tahiti Flower Long Dress in Soot

I would suggest ordering up a size if you are going to wear this while pregnant, to make sure it fits properly over your growing chest...and then you will also be able to wear it while breast feeding, how convenient...

I wouldn't try it with short dresses because the belly will raise up the hem and in a short dress it could be quite obvious (maternity dresses are made with extra fabric in the front to prevent that) but lucky for you, the maxi-dress is still huge this summer.

One-piece bathing suits for all - including maternity

I haven't done a swimwear post in a while, and with the 4th of July coming up I imagine a lot of people will be lounging by the pool (or another body of water, like me - Lake Michigan!!!)

In the past I have posted a lot of great bikini's for large busted women, but not everyone wants a bikini and there are some beautiful one-piece suits out there. In fact I think they can look incredibly elegant.

First we have the Miracle suit, they are are miracles - they smooth out the tummy and with the ruching of these they draw the eye to all the right places. There is no more flattering suit than a black one piece, and this one is ideal.

This one is on sale (under $40!) and I love how the ruching brings the eye to the cute button on the side-

This maternity tankini has so much personality - it's adorable AND it's marked down to $54 (from $109)-

I think this maternity tankini is so cute, it's sweet and simple and in a lovely color -
