Jet Patchwork Jeans

These jeans are not my normal style, but for some reason I cannot get them out of my head, and well, happy birthday to me! They are Jet by John Eshaya's Patchwork jeans -

I love the light wash, it's the perfect light blue for summer - it isn't acid washed, instead the perfect light wash.

On their own they don't look like much -

but on someone they look amazing!

the perfect skinnies

Somehow I forgot how great the perfect pair of skinny jeans can be. I actually tried on some jeans the other day and was reminded how fantastic J Brands are, and worth every penny - really.

Packing for Spring Break part 1

Going on a vacation this Spring? We are going to Florida for a few days at the end of March and I'm already thinking of what I want to pack. It's fun to think about nice weather and summer clothes when it's cold and stormy here. First up, those great Jcrew peep toes I posted yesterday, but what else?

I have a pair of wide leg white jeans from last summer but I'm thinking of adding a skinny pair, and Citizens makes the great pair above.

We came back late Sunday night from Cleveland where Grandma Shirley's big birthday celebration was. I'm still a little behind from being away, so not much to blog about. Cleveland was pretty, it was fun to see fall colors - we don't get much of that here and my outfit choices all worked out really well (phew).

The New (CHEAPER) Premium Denim

The Wall Street Journal had an article this week about the new attempts by mall stores to create jeans that we would choose over 7's, J Brand, or any other premium brands. I can only attest to the new styles at the Gap and I have to say they are great. I bought a pair of the new skinny jeans, and although I haven't worn them out yet, I have worn them around the house and I really like them. I don't feel like i'm sacrificing anything to wear these skinny jeans instead of J Brand skinnies, and I saved more than $100. They are a good weight, have the right shape including a contoured waistband, and the butt looks great.

The one thing I don't think is right is that they claim they are the same as designer sizes now. I have to disagree, they are still a little bigger than premium brands. But, I do think a lot of people who had been sized out of Gap clothes (because they were too big) will be able to wear these.

I love the higher waist and wide leg, along with the cuffs at the bottom. They have them in a few colors including the dark grey above, a dark denim (perfect for fall!) and white. The rest of the Dittos sale is also worth a peek, lots of good looking flare leg jeans, and only 1 style is more than $75!

The New Gap Skinny Jeans

Those are Gap jeans, can you believe it? I couldn't. And they are $50 (for a limited time, regularly $70 I think), Whoa. I would really really like to try them, I do need a new pair of skinny jeans and would certainly like to avoid paying full price for JBrand or Citizens of Humanity, my current favorites. I will be heading to a Gap to try them on!

They say they have also standardized the sizes to match up more with designer denim sizes, which would make ordering them much easier. So, if you can't get to a store just click here -
