I'm back from my hiatus, and have lot's to blog about. I'm going to start with shorts though, since it is the first official day of Summer (and the day before my birthday!)

New skirts that take me back...

Skirts these days are really reminding me of the mini-skirts I loved in high school, a tight, one layer cotton/lycra mix anywhere from super mini to knee length. Back then I wore them with t-shirts and chuck taylors (hi-tops and lo). I'm dating myself, that's a totally early to mid 90's style and I rocked it proudly back then. Now those skirts are back, but with new details like zippers and pleating.

Inexpensive Shorts

I was talking to a friend the other day who just had a baby. None of her warm weather bottoms fits her yet and she needs shorts! I generally don't spend much on things like shorts, although a nice pair of denim cutoffs from your favorite designer denim brand is great, sometimes you want something you can really kick around in and not worry about them (or like my friend you just need a temporary size). For those kinds of things I go to Old Navy, and they have cute shorts. For starters these knee length oxford bermudas -



They would look adorable with a tank, sandals and a fun necklace to dress it up a bit.

NU colorful Spring top

It was sunny and beautiful here yesterday, I'm hoping the beginning of a real spring and inspiration for a lovely new top perfect for this lovely new weather -

It would look great with jeans and heels for going out, or trousers and a cardigan for work. So, you know, really it's a bargain considering you could wear it everywhere and all the time!

I took another short hiatus from posting, this time unplanned. I've been totally distracted by a major purchase - a car! We bought our first brand-spanking new car. It's not the kind of shopping I blog about, but it is shopping and it's pretty exciting to us. I'll come back with more details when we pick it up on Friday. In the meantime, happy shopping!

Wedge Sandals under $100

I think this Spring is all about the shoes, in addition to the high-heeled sandals I posted wedge styles are huge. They can be more comfortable for everyday wear, particularly with a platform in front so the heel won't feel so high.


I can't believe I'm posting this pair, it's very cute but it's, gulp, by Crocs. I know, I can't believe it either. I hope it means they are comfortable in addition to being cute and inexpensive -

Bikinis for Large Busts

Getting ready for our Florida trip recently reminded me how hard it can be to find the right new swim suit. Figleaves has a great sale of 20% off a brand of suits that makes fantastic options for women who need support on top.


The solid bikini comes in this bright blue, as well as fuschia and grey, it goes up to a 38G cup size. The style has a bit of the retro flavor that's so big now with swimwear, it looks like a pinup suit -

The bottoms are also adorable, this bikini with ties on the side, as well as one with a ruched waist.

The prints are pretty as well,

I like this style of bottom, I think I say this every year but the foldover waist is very flattering because it keeps the waist smooth (nothing bulges over...)

The New Sandal

I have been gazing longingly at so many of the new super high-heeled chunky sandals at Shopbop, but they are so expensive (Balmain...) The J Crew versions are also gorgeous but still hover around $300 so I was really excited to find these options that are all under $150. Some of them come in a lighter color as well, so click on them to see.
