One-piece bathing suits for all - including maternity

I haven't done a swimwear post in a while, and with the 4th of July coming up I imagine a lot of people will be lounging by the pool (or another body of water, like me - Lake Michigan!!!)

In the past I have posted a lot of great bikini's for large busted women, but not everyone wants a bikini and there are some beautiful one-piece suits out there. In fact I think they can look incredibly elegant.

First we have the Miracle suit, they are are miracles - they smooth out the tummy and with the ruching of these they draw the eye to all the right places. There is no more flattering suit than a black one piece, and this one is ideal.

This one is on sale (under $40!) and I love how the ruching brings the eye to the cute button on the side-

This maternity tankini has so much personality - it's adorable AND it's marked down to $54 (from $109)-

I think this maternity tankini is so cute, it's sweet and simple and in a lovely color -

Yet again more sales

In addition to sales I posted about recently (Yoox, eLuxury, see below) Bluefly is again offering 10% off of everything on the site today, and JCrew has added even more stuff to their sale and lowered prices again.

Happy monday!

Juice for all

Today, or I guess yesterday at this point, was my birthday. I have been itching to get our bridal registries started but my fiance has been dragging his feet. I got around that by asking to do it for my birthday. He didn't think he was going to enjoy it, not everyone loves to shop like I do, that is until he saw the juicer section of Bloomingdales.

After spotting this huge Breville stainless steel juicer I could see the visions of children drinking freshly made juice in his eyes. The thing is massive, and will hopefully be ours -

Doesn't it look like the Ironman of juicers? Or maybe it's more like the hulk.

Designer Dresses on sale!

eLuxury continues to have incredibly beautiful pieces marked down like crazy. i am particularly smitten with a couple of dresses, including two Marc jacobs dresses, which unlike many of his pieces, looks really wearable and flattering for a variety of figures. Can't put pictures up at the moment, but this link will take you to Designer Sale Event

This Doo.Ri dress is also beautiful, and marked down to $809, still expensive, but it's no longer $1350,

On the much more afforable end of the spectrum, there are several LAMB pieces on sale as well including this adorable dress -
It's made of a really thick material so it's sturdy and won't show every bulge or line underneath, I like that in a dress!

I alos like this one -
Black and white always looks great on everyone, and as I've said before, I think LAMB pieces are really well made and wearable.

And let's not forget about the 3.1 Phillip Lim sale, like this skirt -

and goddess dress -

there is also a ton more on sale, so happy shopping!

"Green" shopping with designer labels

Ok, really this post is it before I go offline for the weekend - but this Times style article about consignment shopping caught my eye for several reasons - first, I love to purge my own wardrobe by selling things at consignment shops, and second, I love buying things there too (especially bags and shoes!)

When people ask me how to shop for "green" clothes, I generally tell them buy less, and if you can - buy at consignment shops (or vintage of course)

Barneys Sale

The Barneys New York sale has gotten even better at up to 60% off of fabulous stuff - now would be the time to get a Prada or Lanvin bag if you are in the market. Contemporary lines are marked down as well like the Co-op stuff and Marc by Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Philip Lim, basically all the good stuff.

Happy Shopping and have a great weekend - I will report back about LA next week!

LA Bound...

My friend is getting married this weekend in LA, and I'm so excited to be going down there tomorrow for a few days. I have not spent much time there, basically one dodgers game, one pedicure, and a Saturday morning on Pico is all I've done there. Shaina, who is driving us down there has already predicted a sartorial emergency so she made sure I have some of the weekend blocked off for shopping (does anyone really need to ask me??) I've made a short list of some boutiques I'd like to visit. She asked if my fiance needs to be entertained during that time - I guessed that the sheer possibility of seeing Britney Spears will be enough to get him to go anywhere with us and he confirmed that I do indeed know him well.

But now I have to pack, and it's really HOT up here in northern CA so it's got to be really hot down there. I'm thinking a sundress or two, workout clothes, and shabbat and wedding clothes.

I'm wishing I had this dress right about now -

Wedding Stress and Shoes

As anyone who has planned a wedding knows, it's stressful. I don't think I quite appreciated the stresses, and I thought, eh, I am a professional shopper...but whoa. In the first week i got my dress and reserved the place, I thought those would be hard but whittling down the guest list is the most stressful so far.

I'm dealing with it by looking for shoes all the time, like these totally affordable beauties...
Caparros Women'S Val Pump

of course they have every size except mine so I had to keep looking...

Liz Rene Couture Women's Melissa Sandal

now the only question is what flats do I get for the dancing!
